LOOK: Chargers already covering seats at StubHub Center

This whole Los Angeles Chargers thing isn’t necessarily working out. It’s the football equivalent of a Forrest Gump sequel without Tom Hanks. And the early returns clearly show this.

Already a laughingstock in their return to Los Angeles, the Chargers are actually covering seats at their temporary digs for their Week 4 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Really.

This is just a continuation of what has been disastrous relocation for the fledgling franchise. The team’s home opener in Week 2 was not a sell out. This came on the heels of anti-Chargers billboards outside the venue earlier in the summer.

Remember, StubHub Center’s capacity is just 27,000, making it the smallest venue in the NFL. If the team has to already start covering empty seats, it’s a clear acknowledgement that things are just not going right in Los Angeles.

On the field, the Chargers enter Week 4 with a 0-3 record. They’ve lost two games by a combined five points and continue to kick themselves in the back end. It’s to the point where first-year head coach Anthony Lynn is already fed up with what he’s seen.
