Love him or hate him, Bryce Harper is a red-blooded, white-boned and blue-bleeding American, and he’s got the baseball bat to prove it.
Saturday morning, the Washington Nationals outfielder stepped up to the plate flaunting a patriotic-themed bat.
Madison Bumgarner, the 2014 World Series MVP and San Francisco Giants ace, was no match for Harper and his American-themed at-bat in the bottom of the first inning.
The 22-year-old Harper turned on a fastball and lasered a two-run shot—his 25th homer of the year—over the right-field wall to give Washington a 3-0 early edge.
God bless Bryce Harper, and God bless America.
