LIV Golf has yet to announce its full 2024 schedule, but the circuit revealed Saturday that it is returning to Adelaide, Australia, for an April 26-28 event.

Talor Gooch was the individual winner of the new Adelaide event this year at the Grange Golf Club. The Dustin Johnson-led 4 Aces GC emerged as the tournament’s team victor.

The event gained worldwide attention due to the wild reaction to a hole-in-one by Chase Koepka at the par-3 12th, known as “the watering hole.”

LIV Golf commissioner and CEO Greg Norman said, according to the (London) Daily Mail, “I think the success of the watering hole could be expanded because of the popularity of it. I think you can get more spectators around there.”

Norman said that LIV hopes to attract 30,000 fans daily next year in Adelaide, topping the 2023 total attendance of 77,000.

“It’s easier said than done … (but) for us it’s the goal we have got to do and that’s what we’re going to do,” he said, according to the Daily Mail.

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas said in a statement, “The inaugural LIV Golf Adelaide was a global success, named the world’s best golf event for 2023. LIV Golf delivered for South Australia, filling hotel rooms, restaurants and pumping $65 million into our state’s economy.

“With dates now set for 2024, I have no doubt there will be many excited fans from interstate and overseas booking their trip to South Australia.

“Hosting the nation’s first LIV Golf tournament and playing home to the now legendary hole-in-one by Chase Koepka at our iconic watering hole, these history-making moments got people looking at Adelaide and talking about our state. The results from the first LIV Golf Adelaide are exactly why my government invests in securing major events, and why I am excited about what’s in store for next year’s LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide.”
