The New York Liberty announced the signing Thursday of free agent center Stefanie Dolson.
Dolson, 30, is coming off a 2021 WNBA championship with the Chicago Sky.
The two-time All-Star averaged 7.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 24 games (15 starts) last season. She shot 48.6 percent from the field, 40.4 percent from 3-point range and 94.7 percent at the foul line.
A New York native, Dolson has career averages of 9.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 235 games (180 starts) with the Washington Mystics (2014-16) and Sky.
“Playing in New York is a dream come true,” Dolson said in a statement. “It feels like now is the perfect time in my career to join the Liberty organization as we set our sights on becoming perennial contenders.
“… Knowing that I’ll have the support of my family and friends at Barclays Center makes this all the more special.”
The Mystics drafted the 6-foot-5 Dolson with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft out of UConn, where she appeared in four Final Fours and won two national championships.
