Le’Veon Bell will skip OTAs again, says relationship with Adam Gase is ‘great’

Tuesday’s team activities brought some good news and bad news for New York Jets fans as it relates to running back Le’Veon Bell.

The bad news is that Bell didn’t look especially strong at minicamp on Tuesday. Furthermore, Bell that he’ll head back to Florda when this camp is over and therefore won’t be at OTAs next week.

The good news is that Bell squashed the notion that there is a rift between himself and head coach, Adam Gase.

On his relationship with Gase, Bell said (per Manish Mehta, New York Daily News) that “Business is business… Our relationship is great.”

That will be welcome news for the Jets and their fans.

Gase was reportedly quite unhappy with the money that Jets gave Bell. It’s even said to have been a factor in general manager Mike Maccagnan being fired.

Especially given what he went through with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the last thing anyone associated with the Jets wanted was for Bell to have a beef with the organization. For now, at least according to Bell, that’s a non-issue.
