Le’Veon Bell reportedly won’t report by Tuesday deadline

The situation that’s been unfolding between Le’Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers does not appear to be headed toward a resolution.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing multiple sources, Bell is “unlikely to report to the team by Tuesday’s deadline, which would make him ineligible to play the rest of this season.”

This makes sense for Bell. He’s taken things this far, losing millions of dollars in the process. At this point, take it all the way and force the Steelers to either slap him with the tag next year again or allow him to hit free agency.

For Pittsburgh, Bell not showing up might actually make things easier. James Conner has been one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in all of football this year and has already scored as many touchdowns in nine games (11) than Bell ever has in a single season.

There have been multiple reports saying Bell does intend to show up on Tuesday before the deadline passes. But then again, nobody’s been able to get a real solid line on what he’s going to do since before the season began.
