Le’Veon Bell claims he wasn’t ‘dissin’ the Jets’

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is setting the record straight about some monetary offers he received (and turned down) on Thursday to play with the New York Jets.

This is what Bell had to say as a guest on The Michael Kay Show.

The amount Bell turned turned down was $60 million that a fan “offered” him. Bell is currently trying to work out a long-term deal with the Steelers, who we can presume would have to pay him more than this figure.

Most recently Bell said that he plans on showing up for training camp, though he also said he’s serious about considering retirement if they placed a franchise tag on him. This is definitely a different tune than Bell sang last year when he held out all summer.

And at least we know Bell still has some love for a Jets team he admired as a kid.
