LeGarrette Blount Abandons Tom Brady To Join Big Ben In Pittsburgh

LeGarrette Blount just left his crowded crew of Patriots running backs to join forces with the Pittsburgh Steelers, signing a two-year deal. Blount at 27 years old, 6’0″ and 250 pounds, is a meaty addition of depth behind the Pittsburgh Steelers backfield, which is led by LeVeon Bell.

Blount may not be remembered as much for his 772-yard regular season performance in 2013.  It was his playoff game performance against the Colts where he ran for four touchdowns that might ring some bells.

Prior to Blount’s last season with the Patriots, he played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three years, where his only 1,000 plus yard season in 2010.

I have to think the addition of Blount to the Steelers offense will bite into Bell’s value some, especially for fantasy football purposes. He’s powerful at the goal line when given the opportunity, he’ll score his fair share of touchdowns. Either way, I agree with these fan reactions and the duo of Blount and Bell should keep defenses scrambling.
