Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is set to open a grade school in Akron. Speaking about it, LeBron said in no uncertain terms that it’s the most important thing he’s ever done in his career.
“Besides having three kids and marrying my wife and putting my mom in a position where she never has to worry about anything again for the rest of her life, this is right up there. Championships, MVPs, points, rebounds, and assists. That stuff is…whatever.”

Per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, “The Akron school board unanimously approved the James foundation’s plan this week, and James’ entertainment company will produce a documentary on the school’s opening.”
Vardon also noted that the “I Promise School” is “for third-and fourth-graders in the Akron Public Schools system who are at risk of falling behind.”
The school is set to open in the fall.
