LeBron James and Warner Bros. Team Up To Produce Movies and TV Shows

LeBron James could make Michael Jordan look like small potatoes when it’s all said and done as it relates to crafting a lasting brand.

James’ SpringHill Entertainment has teamed up with Warner Bros. to produce movies and television shows, Variety reports. In a joint statement, James, SpringHill co-founder Maverick Carter and Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced the partnership:

“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment,” Tsujihara said Wednesday. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”

This huge news comes on the heels of James’ successful debut in the film Trainwreck, for which he’s received numerous positive reviews.

SpringHill Entertainment has already dipped its toes into the deep waters of the entertainment industry, including hit shows Becoming on Disney XD and Survivor’s Remorse on Starz.

James is the biggest star in the NBA, and with his magnetic personality coming through with flair on the silver screen, one can only imagine his fame will continue to grow. He’s excited about this new endeavor and loves the chance to connect more with his fans in the future.

“Connecting with my fans and telling meaningful stories have always been my passion,” James said in a statement. “In everything I’ve done, from Nike commercials toUninterrupted and Survivor’s Remorse, it’s always about connecting with people of all ages and providing unique content they can all enjoy. And I’ve always loved movies, which makes Warner Bros. the ultimate partner to help us continue to push the envelope. I can’t wait to see what we come up with.”

There have been rumors stirring that James could be starring in Space Jam 2. If he does end up with that role, millions of young kids will flock to the theaters with their parents in tow to watch him perform. This new deal is huge, not only for James but also for Warner Bros., which will surely see a tremendous windfall in the long run partnering with the biggest sports star in America.
