It doesn’t look like Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton is too concerned over his job security. Having just finished up his second season with the Lakers, Walton is treating himself to some prime Southern California real estate.
According to Realtor.com, Walton dropped $7.2 million on this eight-bedroom Manhattan Beach mansion. And it’s all sorts of absurd.
“To one side of the staircase, there’s an office with built-in bookcases on two walls and coffered ceilings. To the other, there’s a game room with a fireplace, wet bar, and enough space for a pool table,” the report noted. “The game room flows into the formal dining room, which appears to have a mural painted on at least one of its walls.”
In addition to having eight bedrooms, the mansion includes eight bathrooms, a workout room, home theater and a lush backyard with a pool and an open-air bar.
Walton’s deal with the Lakers pays him a guaranteed $25 million over five seasons. A former NBA player, he earned $33 million during his 10-year career on the hardwood. Obviously, Walton can afford to treat himself to something of this magnitude. Good stuff.
