Kyrie Irving parts way with agent ahead of free agency

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

In a move that comes with some questionable timing, Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving has moved on from longtime agent Jeff Wechsler just weeks ahead of free agency.

It was just earlier on Wednesday that reports noted Irving declined his 2019-20 option with the Celtics. That will make him a free agent once July comes calling.

The expectation has long been that Irving will leave Boston. Though, more-recent reports are that the Brooklyn Nets have become odds-on favorites to land the star point guard.

A later report indicates that Irving will team up with Roc Nation, whose clients include Kevin Durant.

Interesting, indeed.
