The reported trade of Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers could also lead to the addition of soon-to-be free agent Kyrie Irving.
David Aldridge of The Athletic reported that his sources say Irving has been looking to team up with Davis “for months.”
This ties nicely in with previous reports indicating Irving wasn’t adverse to the idea of once again teaming up with former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate LeBron James — this time in Los Angeles.
The Lakers have already seen a significant boost in expectations following the Davis trade and are now the heavy favorites to win the 2020 NBA Finals. Adding Irving to the mix would only strengthen the perception that this team is championship caliber.
Though, after Irving fired his agent and signed with Roc Nation, there’s another team that has a strong pull on the Boston Celtics star.
NBA free agency should be a blast. Get your popcorn ready.
