WATCH: Kyle Schwarber launches lead-off home run on first pitch he sees

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Schwarber wasted no time getting the Chicago Cubs on the board in the bottom of the first in Tuesday’s game with the Chicago White Sox.

Schwarber, who was batting lead off, took the first pitch that he saw from Ivan Nova over the left-center field wall.

Schwarber is obviously no stranger to the long ball. There’s definitely no shame in allowing a round-tripper to him (it was his 16th of the year), it had to be especially frustrating for the White Sox.

In the top of the first, they loaded the bases with only one out. The Cubs got out of the jam, though, when Cole Hamels got Eloy Jimenez to hit into a double play.

Only one pitch later, the Cubs were ahead.
