Kirk Cousins and Chris Thompson injured on same play, RB carted off

During Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints, the Washington Redskins saw starting quarterback Kirk Cousins and star running back Chris Thompson injured on the same play.

Cousins was attempting to gain a first down running on a scramble drill to the left side, and Thompson was blocking for him on the play. Cousins took a huge hit to the head, while Thompson had his knee/ankle rolled up from behind and had to be carted off the field.

Thompson needed an air cast on his injured leg, which is never a good sign.

It was just a brutal turn of events for the Redskins, who’ve been snake bitten by injuries all year long on both sides of the ball.
