With less than two weeks before the 2019-’20 NBA season is set to resume in Orlando, Sacramento Kings center Richaun Holmes learned the league is taking its quarantine bubble quite seriously.
Holmes. Sacramento’s starting center, was placed back into quarantine after crossing the quarantine line on the NBA’s campus at Disney. The 26-year-old got caught after trying to pick up some delivery food.
The decision will prove costly as the Kings prepare for the NBA’s resumed season. Holmes will be forced to quarantine 10 days, having already served two, keeping him off the practice court until just days before the NBA’s preseason begins.
The 26-year-old center immediately released a statement apologizing for the error. Fortunately for him and the team, it won’t keep him out of any games.
The 10-day quarantine is a far lighter punishment than Holmes, or any NBA player, will face if they break quarantine once the season resumes on July 30.
