Kevin Love ruled out of Game 6 return while he continues to be evaluated for concussion

Kevin Love suffered a concussion in Game 6

In the first quarter of Friday night’s Eastern Conference Finals game between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Love was forced to exit after taking a brutal hit to the head on a collision with Jayson Tatum. You can watch the play here.

After being evaluated for a concussion in the locker room for an extended period of time, Love was ruled out of the rest of Game 6.

This is potentially Love’s second concussion in the past two months and would also be the fourth of his career, if indeed he ends up in the protocol. He was forced to miss time after taking a hit in a game against the Miami Heat in late March as well.

Before exiting the game, Love had not scored any points. However, He’s been a key player for Cleveland against Boston, averaging 15 points and 11 rebounds per game. Needless to say, if the Cavaliers advance to Game 7 and Love is unable to play, it would be a huge blow to the team’s chances of winning this series.
