Kevin Durant: ‘Nobody can recruit me’ in free agency

Kevin Durant may leave the Golden State Warriors after the 2018-19 NBA season, but this foray into free agency will be much different than the last round.

During an interview with Chris Haynes of Yahoo, Durant said he wants to dictate the environment on whatever team he chooses.

Durant is under contract through the 2019-20 campaign, but he holds a player option for next season. He could be a free agent this summer.

While every team would love to sign Durant, it’s too early to say Golden State won’t keep him. After all, he recently said playing in San Francisco would be a dream.

However, it’s become apparent KD will — at worst — truly consider leaving the place where he’s won two championships.

When the 2018-19 season ends, front offices will line up to pitch Durant. But this time, he won’t be solely focused on winning a title.
