Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets were on an absolute roll heading into Sunday’s game against the Miami Heat, winning 17 of their past 19 games.
For the two-time NBA Finals MVP and his team, this quieted some concerns after major struggles to open the 2022-23 campaign.
Unfortunately, another type of concern popped up in the second half of the game. Durant’s right knee got rolled up on by Heat wing Jimmy Butler as the star forward defended his counterpart. It did not look good on replay.
Durant remained in the game for a bit, but was sent straight back to the locker room after a Nets injury timeout. He was almost immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game.
This has to be of major concern for the Nets given how the injury looked and the fact that it’s the same leg that saw the future Hall of Famer suffer an Achilles tear during the 2019 NBA Finals.

As you can see, KD continues to play at a high level at the age of 34. The hope here is that this isn’t a long-term injury.
Brooklyn would go on to defeat Miami by the score of 102-101 to win for the 18th time in its past 20 outings.
