Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have long been called the Splash Brothers. According to the Golden State Warriors star duo, Kevin Durant needs to be included in that group.
Following the news that Durant had ruptured his Achilles, Curry and Thompson were asked if Durant is also a Splash Brother. Thompson’s answer left no doubt.
Even before Durant reinjured himself in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, his resume with the Warriors was more than worthy of being a Splash Brother.
He led the Warriors to the championship in 2017 and 2018, winning the NBA Finals MVP both years. Additionally, Durant has always brought the elite outside shooting, which has long been the calling card of the Splash Brothers. Gritting through Game 5 with a serious injury only further added to Durant’s legacy.
All things considered, we can’t take issue with anything Thompson said. Durant has definitely done everything he needs to do (and then some) to turn the Splash Brothers into a trio.
