After he suffered a chest injury in Saturday’s win over Georgia Southern, Clemson Tigers senior quarterback Kelly Bryant expects to play this week against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Bryant, who started against Georgia Southern, left in the second quarter after taking a hit in the chest. The team evaluated his injury and ultimately diagnosed him with a chest bruise.
Freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence filled in for the remainder of the game and completed 12-of-19 pass attempts for 194 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Fortunately, Bryant feels ready to return to action and wasn’t limited in practice to start the week.
“I’m full go. I’m ready to play today,” Bryant said, via The State. “I was full go at practice yesterday. There wasn’t any limitations. I feel like I’m 100 percent.”
We should see Bryant back out on the field for Saturday’s matchup against the Yellow Jackets. If he were to suffer any setbacks, the team certainly feels confident in Lawrence to step in whenever needed.
