Kawhi Leonard reportedly wants out of San Antonio

Things could now very well be coming to a head between star forward Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs. It’s been reported for a while now that a growing rift between the All-Star and his organization could lead to a trade.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, that now includes Leonard himself wanting out of San Antonio.

Leonard was expected to meet with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich after their relationship hit an all-time low during a 2017-18 camaign that saw the forward miss all but nine games to injury. It’s not yet known if that meeting took place. If it did, things obviously went awry.

San Antonio has remained firm in demanding a huge return for Leonard. Now that this news has come out, it’s unlikely the team will be able to receive fair-market value.

With the 2018 NBA Draft set to take place in less than a week, we’re sure to see the rumor mill heat up regarding a potential Leonard trade over the next several days.
