The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without star big man Karl-Anthony Towns for at least two weeks after he suffered a fractured left wrist, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Towns has been out of commission since before the All-Star break. An MRI did not come back clean, but the team was calling it simply a “left wrist injury.” Clearly, this is a bit more than just a normal wrist injury.

One of the best big men in the game, Towns is having a stellar year for Minnesota, averaging 26.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

The Timberwolves are currently the second-worst team in the Western Conference with a record of 16-37, so as talented as Towns is, this injury won’t likely change a thing for the franchise in the short term.
