Jacqueline Towns, the mother of Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, has passed away due to complications from COVID-19.

Towns announced a few weeks ago that his mother was battling the coronavirus and was hospitalized. On April 7, it was learned she was still in the ICU fighting the virus.

Known as Jackie by those closest to her, she had fought against the virus for more than a month until tragically passing away on Monday.

More than 570,000 people in the United States have tested positive for COVID-19 with more than 23,000 deaths nationally, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

We extend our thoughts and condolences to the Towns’ family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
