Glenn Jacobs — more commonly known as WWE superstar Kane — is throwing his hat into the political ring. He has taken the necessary steps to run for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
“Knox County is a great place and we’re so happy and feel so blessed to live here. … I want to do my part going forward,” Jacobs said, per NBC affiliate WCYB, while touting the virtues of the county and south, in general. “One of the things we’re going to have to figure out in Knox County is how to take advantage of that.”
According to the report, Jacobs “identifies himself as a Republican.” He supported third party candidate Ron Paul in the 2008 Presidential Election.
Jacobs has worked with the WWE for more than 20 years, with Kane being his most portrayed gimmick. According to the WCYB report, he runs an insurance agency in Knox County when he’s not performing with the WWE.
