Julio Jones becomes fastest player to reach 10K receiving yards

Falcons coach avoids Julio Jones trade talk: 5 best teams for All-Pro receiver

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones came into Sunday’s game 13 yards shy of NFL history. Now he goes into the record books with a 30-yard reception, becoming the fastest receiver to reach 10,000 career receiving yards.

Midway through the second quarter, Jones found an open spot in coverage and picked up 30 receiving yards on a catch-and-run. The 30-yard play put him over 10,000 career receiving yards in just the 104th game of his NFL career.

Entering Sunday, Calvin Johnson held the NFL record for fastest to 10,000-plus receiving yards by doing it in the 115th game in his career.

After setting an NFL record, Jones celebrated in style a short time later. He hauled in a screen pass near the goal line then fought his way into the end zone for his second receiving touchdown of the year.

Jones has been a machine at racking up receiving yards, especially this season. Now he is finding the end zone (finally), putting up all the numbers worthy of another All-Pro nod this season.
