Julio Jones 13 yards shy of NFL history

Julio Jones

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones has had plenty of big moments in his NFL career. On Sunday, he’ll have a chance to become part of NFL history by becoming the fastest receiver to 10,000 receiving yards.

The 29-year-old comes into Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns just 13 yards shy of the 10,000-yard mark. Not only would he become just the 48th player to do it, but he would accomplish the feat in by far the fewest amount of games.

Currently, Calvin Johnson holds the NFL record for fastest to 10,000-plus receiving yards. He accomplished the feat in the 115th game in his career. Meanwhile, Sunday will mark Jones’ 103rd game in the NFL.

While Jones hasn’t found the end zone much this season, he is on a torrid pace in terms of receiving yards. He enters Week 10 with 933 receiving yards in eight games and is on pace for the second, 1,800-plus yard season in his career.

Set to face a secondary that could be without top cornerback Denzel Ward, or at the least that will see him play at less than 100 percent, it could be another monster and now historic Sunday for the All-Pro receiver.
