Julian Edelman off NFI list, cleared to practice, per report

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

New England Patriots star slot receiver Julian Edelman has been sidelined for most of training camp with a thumb injury, but he’s back in action once more.

Field Yates of ESPN noted Edelman has passed his physical and has been removed from the non-football injury list.

This is good news, of course, because it gives Edelman a chance to work with the first-team offense before the season begins.

Edelman is coming off a fantastic, albeit suspension-shortened 2018 campaign. In 12 games during the regular season, he caught 74 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns. Then in the postseason, he caught 26 passes for 388 yards in just three games.

Needless to say, New England’s offense is better with Edelman in the lineup than it is without him.
