Josh Rosen out indefinitely with nerve issue in throwing shoulder

Josh Rosen

UCLA sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen might not play for quite a while. He’s out indefinitely with a nerve issue in his throwing shoulder, something that head coach Jim Mora finally acknowledged publicly on Monday.

There is currently no timetable for his return.

Rosen missed the past two games against Washington State and Utah after sustaining an injury during the team’s road game against Arizona State.

He’s one of the quarterbacks who has been projected very favorably as a potential star at the next level. However, this year’s production has not shown the kind of ascension that was expected following an up-and-down freshman campaign.

To date, Rosen has completed just 59.3 percent of his passes for 1,915 yards with with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in six games.
