Jordy Nelson defends Aaron Rodgers from critics

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has faced criticism from both former coaches and former teammates following what was a disappointing season for his squad.

Some have noted that Rodgers lacks the leadership abilities that make a true team leader. Whether that has substance or is something completely different remains to be seen.

However, current Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jordy Nelson took to the media to defend his former teammate of a decade.

“I mean, no one wants to hear that Aaron’s not only obviously a great quarterback but a great leader and does everything right,” Nelson said, via Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. “All right, there’s your story. What fun is that? So whenever they can, they go back to the well and get the same people to say the same stuff.”

Not only is Nelson taking a shot at those who have criticized Rodgers, he’s lobbing shade in the direction of the media — indicating that we’re sensationalizing it.

Regardless of what we think, it’s no surprise that Nelson has Rodgers’ back. The latter was not happy when Green Bay released Nelson following the 2017 season. Obviously, they maintain a strong bond to this day.
