Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmerman, who was already having himself a heck of a season, threw a rare no-hitter against the Miami Marlins on the final day of the MLB regular season.
Zimmerman will have a chance to prove his worth in the second season, as the Nationals enter the playoffs with the best record in the National League.
But for now, Zimmerman’s accomplishment is history making for the Nationals franchise. He struck out 10 and walked just one in an absolutely dominating performance.
Outfielder Steven Souza made the play of the year to preserve the no-hitter with two outs in the top of the ninth.

What a great way to top off an amazing regular season for Zimmerman and the Nationals, who will host the NL Wild Card winner in the NLDS later this week.
