With dancing practically a job requirement for the members of the Carolina Panthers, running back Jonathan Stewart created this montage of moves with the hope that ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” might contact him to star in its upcoming season.
Stewart, who has nailed the Handjive, posted this to his Instagram not long after the Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
“#handjive holla at me dancing with the stars! #nfl #panthers”
When reporters with TMZ Sports caught up with Stewart at Los Angeles International Airport, they asked the running back if he was really serious about his quest to join the show.
Stewart responded with this.
“As long as it doesn’t cut into my offseason workout.”
If Stewart receives an invitation, he also indicated that he would be willing to accept less than a half-million dollars, which is what entertainer and ex-Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend Scott Disick said he would do the show for.
For Stewart, putting his team first is obviously most important. Plus his hard work and practice paid off in spades in 2015 when he posted his best numbers (989 rushing yards) and seven total touchdowns since his 2009 season.
With health an issue in the past, and DeAngelo Williams no longer with the Panthers, Stewart started in a career-high 13 games last season. That in itself is worth breaking out in dance to celebrate.
