Johnny Manziel is not well, that much is clear, and his father is exceedingly worried about his son’s increasingly alarming behavior to the point where he’s worried about his son’s life.

According to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News, Paul Manziel says he’s tried twice to get his son into rehab this past week, to no avail.

“I truly believe if they can’t get him help, he won’t live to see his 24th birthday,” Manziel said.

As Adam Schefter reported, Manziel’s agent has parted ways with him in light of his recent troubles, which include an investigation into possible assault and accusations by his ex-girlfriend that hit her multiple times and threatened her life.

Alcohol has been an issue in most of the off-field incidents in which Manziel has gotten into trouble. He went into rehab last winter and appeared to be a changed man, but that didn’t last long.

It’s clear Manziel needs help, but it’s up to him to get it.
