TCU OC throws shade Johnny Manziel’s way discussing QB Kenny Hill

TCU offensive coordinator Doug Meacham, speaking about quarterback Kenny Hill on Friday, managed to find a way to bring Johnny Manziel into the conversation.

And you’ll be shocked to learn it wasn’t in a positive manner.

The Horned Frogs landed Hill as a transfer student last year after he had a falling out with Texas A&M.

He got a chance to lead Texas A&M’s offense, going 5-0 to start the 2014 season. But he ended up being replaced by Kyle Allen after three horrible games before a drunken night out resulted in a two-game suspension.

Hill and Manziel were both at Texas A&M for the 2013 season, and it’s easy to see how the freshman would get the wrong idea about how to compose oneself with Manziel as his role model.

He discussed the transfer to TCU before the team came back to start up practices on Wednesday.

“That was tough, because I didn’t really want to talk about it,” Hill said Wednesday on the eve of the start of TCU’s fall practice, via the Star-Telegram. “I didn’t want to have to think about what happened at A&M anymore. I was trying to move on.”

Hill ran TCU’s scout offense throughout the 2015 college football season, learning the offense and watching Trevone Boykin put up jaw-dropping numbers.

Now it’s his turn to shine, and he’s eager to make the most of this second chance.

“I’m just trying to make my own path and write my own story,” Kenny Hill quietly said Wednesday. “Maybe somebody one day can take an example from me.”

Based on the early returns, Hill will provide a better example than the one he was given.
