Heat targeting John Wall, Bradley Beal to create superteam with Jimmy Butler?

Wizards point guard John Wall has his Washington Wizards in title contention.

The Miami Heat are reportedly looking into the possibility of re-engaging the Washington Wizards to acquire both John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald signaled this could be on the horizon.

This report coincides with a Washington Post report indicating there “is a growing belief” that Beal will in fact reject that three-year, $111 million extension.

Bringing Wall and Beal to South Beach would give the Heat one of the most entertaining — if not talented — backcourts in the entire NBA.

At the center of all this is Wall’s enormous albatross of a contract, which the Heat are reportedly toying with taking on to acquire Beal.

Wall, of course, is still recovering from the Achilles injury he suffered last season. So, if Miami really was willing to absorb his massive contract to land Beal, it stands to reason that Pat Riley and Co. places significant value on the guard.

All this is pure speculation and informed reasoning right now. However, one thing that’s clear is that Miami is doing everything in its power to become relevant in the Eastern Conference once again. With that in mind, we won’t rule anything out.
