An ESPN report earlier in December indicated that Jim Harbaugh’s family was encouraging the San Francisco 49ers head coach to take the Michigan head coaching job following the season.
That story seemed a bit fishy at first, especially considering Harbaugh’s wife has reportedly shown her desire to stay on the west coast, California in particular.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh disputed the report of those close to his brother encouraging a move to Ann Arbor.
I don’t know where all that came from, but it didn’t come from the Harbaughs,” John Harbaugh told ESPN. “My dad and I both said [to Jim], don’t tell us. If something gets out, we don’t want the finger pointed at us. Leave us out of it and don’t tell us what you’re going to do.
The younger Harbaugh has been linked to Michigan ever since it became clear that he wouldn’t be returning for a fifth season as the San Francisco 49ers head coach.
And now that San Francisco is expected to part ways with Harbaugh following the team’s season finale this upcoming Sunday against Arizona, these rumors are starting to heat up even more.
