Brian Hoyer’s season might just be over after John Fox confirmed the quarterback had broken his arm on Thursday night.
John Fox told @tracywolfson that Bears QB Brian Hoyer broke his arm. Another bad Thursday night injury for Hoyer. https://t.co/SJgYqGkvPW

The Chicago Bears quarterback went down hard in between Green Bay Packers defenders Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews. His arm was trapped between the two men. It sure looked like a broken arm when it happened. After X-rays, it was confirmed as such.
The Bears went with former USC star Matt Barkley in this one, but one wonders if Jay Cutler’s return is now eminent. Cutler has been out with a hand injury but would likely move right into the starting role once he’s healthy enough to do so.
This goes against the team’s plans. Hoyer had been hot before this game, throwing for at least 302 yards the past four games with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Cutler was likely not going to get his job back because of Hoyer’s fine play. Now things change dramatically.
It remains to be seen if the Bears will be forced to sign another quarterback in the meantime until Cutler is ready.
