The Philadelphia 76ers recently hired Elton Brand as the general manager, but Joel Embiid might need a few moments to stop laughing about their history.
Derek Bodner of The Athletic shared Embiid’s reaction to the news, and it probably doesn’t conjure up great memories for Brand.
Joel Embiid on Elton Brand becoming GM: "As soon as I heard the news, I just thought about how two years ago I was dunking on him…I just remember dunking on him really bad."

During the 2015-16 season, they were teammates in Philly. Although Embiid didn’t officially appear in a game for the Sixers because of injury, he and Brand surely had their battles in practice.
Unsurprisingly, the highly athletic 20-something apparently held an advantage over the 15-year veteran.
Philly’s hiring of Brand drew a fair bit of criticism, given his extremely limited experience in the front office. But right now, Embiid could be thinking more about the possibility of a general manager bringing in someone to dunk on him.
Revenge is best served with an emphatic two-handed slam.
