Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana is generally considered one of the top-two players at his position in NFL history.

He earned four Super Bowl titles with the San Francisco 49ers and helped bring this position to the modern era with that organization in the 1980s.

Now 64-year-old, Montana is out here acting the part of a hero off the field. TMZ Sports reports that Montana and his wife, Jennifer, were faced with a home intruder in the upscale Southern California town of Malibu Saturday evening.

“Our law enforcement sources say the intruder walked away with Montana’s grandchild to another part of the house where she was confronted by Joe and Jennifer,” TMZ Sports reported. “They wrestled the baby away from the woman. The intruder then ran out of the house.”

The suspect is a 39-year-old woman. It’s not clear if she knows or is related to the Montanas.

She was later apprehended by authorities who were in the neighborhood on a separate call. The unnamed woman was ultimately booked on kidnapping and burglary charges.

Montana and his wife have four children, two sons and two daughters.
