Joc Pederson capped a three-homer, eight-RBI night with a game-tying single in the ninth inning, and Brandon Crawford followed with the winning hit to lift the host San Francisco Giants past the New York Mets 13-12 on Tuesday.

The Giants, who snapped a five-game losing streak, led 8-2 entering the seventh inning but fell behind 11-8 when the Mets scored seven runs in the top of the eighth. Francisco Lindor’s three-run triple capped New York’s big frame.

Pederson tied the game in the bottom of the eighth by hitting a three-run homer — his career-high third long ball of the night.

The Mets went ahead in the top of the ninth when Dominic Smith delivered a leadoff triple against John Brebbia (2-0) and pinch runner Travis Jankowski scored on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Nimmo. New York was one out away from closing it out in the bottom half when Edwin Diaz (1-1) walked Mike Yastrzemski and gave up a single to Darin Ruf.

Pederson followed with a game-tying RBI single — his eighth RBI of the game, the most by a Giants player since Crawford had eight RBIs on July 25, 2019 — and Crawford singled two pitches later. Ruf just beat the throw home from left fielder Mark Canha to set off a wild celebration.

Pederson, the first Giants player to hit three homers in a game since Alex Dickerson on Sept. 1, 2020, hit two-run shots in the third and fifth innings. Ruf had an RBI groundout in the first, and San Francisco’s Tommy La Stella hit a three-run homer in the fourth.

Canha hit an RBI single in the second and Lindor lofted a sacrifice fly in the fifth for the Mets. Lindor began the comeback by hitting a two-run homer in the seventh.

Smith had a two-run single and Starling Marte delivered an RBI single before Lindor’s go-ahead hit in the eighth. Pete Alonso followed with a sacrifice fly.

Giants starter Logan Webb allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings. Mets starter Chris Bassitt gave up eight runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings.
