Free agent shooting guard JJ Redick reportedly wants to re-sign with the Philadelphia 76ers this summer, and hopes to retire with the franchise.
Jeff Skversky of 6abc in Philadelphia reports Redick “has expressed major interest in returning to the Sixers in free agency,” Noting he wants to retire with the team.
Redick has spent the past two seasons with Philly, signing one-year deals ahead of both campaigns.
The 35-year-old can still score in bunches and averaged 18.1 points per game last season hitting 44% from the field and 39.1% from behind the arc.
However, the veteran struggled in the playoffs, averaging just 13.4 points per game during the team’s 12-game postseason run. It’s for this reason that we’ve pinpointed Redick as a potential “buyer-beware” candidate this summer in free agency.
