Jimmy Garoppolo hopes to be fully cleared for 49ers training camp

The San Francisco 49ers struggled to win games last year after Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a season-ending ACL injury in Week 3. Roughly 10 months later, the starting quarterback is optimistic he’s going to be fully cleared for training camp.

Speaking with ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, Garoppolo said “I’m able to do pretty much everything now. It’s been a hell of a process. But you know, we’ve been moving in the right direction.”

Throughout the offseason, Garoppolo has been consistently taking positive steps, and head coach Kyle Shanahan has also expressed optimism that his quarterback could be ready for camp.

It’s going to be up to team doctors now, but Garoppolo told Wagoner that he’s been “able to incorporate more performance-driven drills” lately working with quarterback Tom House than he was able to do earlier in the offseason.

The 49ers have one of the most intriguing offenses in the NFL. Assuming Garoppolo is healthy enough to participate fully in training cam, and assuming he stays healthy, the sky is the limit to what it can do.
