Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was a vibrant personality in San Francisco. He will be missed by some, while others are happy to see him go.
One story that has just come to light is from tight end Delanie Walker—now with the Tennessee Titans—describing how Harbaugh once dressed in full gear to practice with the team:
“It didn’t surprise me one bit,” Walker said, via The Tennessean. “Harbaugh doesn’t surprise anyone. He does whatever he feels like doing. Truthfully, I think Harbaugh still thinks he’s a player, not a coach.”
Walker further added this:
“He dressed up in full gear and practiced the whole practice — pads, helmets, everything on. He had the whole uniform on. We came out and said, ‘Who is that dude out there?’ And it was Jim Harbaugh. He had some old high top cleats on.”
It was reported that the team was short a third quarterback that day, so apparently Harbaugh had no problem suiting up and jumping into the mix. Walker also claimed that Harbaugh threw a pretty decent deep pass.
This story comes on the heels of Harbaugh stripping off his shirt and practicing with his college team earlier this month.
Harbaugh coached for the San Franciso 49ers from 2011-2014 before moving on to return to coaching college football at the University of Michigan.
