One name shockingly found its way on to the NFL trade rumor mill ahead of the October deadline.

It came in the form of Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams of the New York Jets. Reports surfaced that the former top-six pick was unhappy in Jersey.

Attempting to clarify this ahead of the start of the offseason, Adams now notes that he would like to return to the Jets. He also made it clear that extension negotiations have started.

This has to be music to the ears of Jets fans the world over. Adams, 24, is already among the best defensive backs in the game. The LSU product has earned two Pro Bowl appearances and one All-Pro honor in three NFL seasons.

Adams is under contract for the 2020 season and will likely see his fifth-year option for the 2021 campaign picked up here in the next several weeks.
