The New York Jets have been without young franchise quarterback Sam Darnold over the past two games as he recovers from a bout with mononucleosis.

There has been no concrete reports regarding Darnold’s status for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s now changed. The Jets are hopeful that Darnold will be able to go with head coach Adam Gase adding, “looked good (yesterday). Everything looked normal. It’s all going to be about the test results,” Gase said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

The earliest we will know anything is after several tests are conducted on Darnold Friday.

New York heads into Week 5 with an 0-3 record and in must-win mode. It has been relying on Luke Falk under center after veteran backup Trevor Siemian suffered a brutal season-ending injury in Week 2.
