Injuries at the running back position in particular have been abundant this season. Unfortunately, the neck injury to New York Jets running back Bilal Powell could be career-ending according to head coach Todd Bowles.

It was reported earlier on Wednesday that the Jets placed Powell on IR due to a neck injury he suffered playing against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. Now, we are hearing that the 29-year-old running back may never be able to play professional football again due the severity of his injury.

Powell has played with the Jets since being drafted in 2011. He has mainly been used as part of a running back tandem and has 5,013 total yards and 20 touchdowns on record.

We wish the best for Powell as he prepares to undergo surgery.
