Jerry Jones to hold a fundraiser for GOP candidate Governor Chris Christie

Grandson of Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys , John Stephen Jones, lands two offers

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is pulling out all the stops to help struggling GOP candidate Governor Chris Christie by holding a fundraiser at his personal home on September 23.

Christie has been a long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys, despite being brought up in northern New Jersey where fans typically support either the New York Jets or New York Giants.

Jones’ fundraising reception will reportedly be held on September 23 at his house where Dallas investor Ray Washburne, who is Christie’s campaign finance chairman, will also help host the event. The ticket prices start at $1,000 and supporters are reportedly being asked to raise as much as $27,000 by rounding up extra people to purchase tickets.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Jones and Christie getting together. The two of them have a history together, including some celebrations at AT&T Stadium. Christie—hideous orange sweater and all—and Jones took quite the ribbing after a video of them exchanging a sloppy, sweaty hug went viral on the internet in January.

Christie, whom Jones refers to as his “mojo,” might be seen whooping it up in the Cowboys owner’s box once again with the 2015 NFL season quickly approaching.
