The possibility of Dez Bryant playing with another team has increased slightly over the past week after his Dallas Cowboys signed wide receivers Deonte Thompson and Allen Hurns.
While Bryant seems to be excited about the Hurns’ signing, it’s not yet known what that means for the receiver’s status. Set to count $16.5 million against the cap next season, the Cowboys could soon ask Bryant to take a dramatic pay cut.
Owner Jerry Jones confirmed that and a whole lot more in speaking to the media on Tuesday at the NFL owners meeting.

That’s fine and dandy. But the Cowboys are not going to bring Bryant back at his $16.5 million tag. Short of him accepting a pay cut, the writing on the wall seems read that Bryant will either be traded or released.
In fact, Jones didn’t commit to Bryant suiting up for America’s Team next season. It’s going to be an interesting dynamic to look at as draft season gets going. No team is going to take on Bryant’s current contract in a trade. That means a restructure with the Cowboys makes a ton of sense. If not, the former Pro Bowler could simply be released.
