Coming off a surprising 50-win season, the Utah Jazz will reportedly look to upgrade their point guard position this summer.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, Utah will once again look to acquire Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Mike Conley.

“Multiple league sources said this week that the Jazz are expected to make another push for him after failing to land him prior to the deadline,” the scribe noted.

As was reported back in February, Utah had been in talks with Memphis about the 31-year-old veteran. Nothing came to fruition on that end.

Conley followed up an injury-plagued 2017-18 campaign by averaging a career-best 21.1 points to go with 6.4 assists this past year.

At issue here is his contract. Conley has two years remaining on the five-year, $152.6 million deal he signed back in 2016. Most teams will not ante up that type of cash for an aging veteran.

Utah is a bit different in that Ricky Rubio is set to become a free agent this summer. Conley would act like a major upgrade next to young two-guard Donovan Mitchell.
