An incredible Heisman Trophy-winning season from Jayden Daniels not only helped the LSU Tigers score more points than any other offense in college football, it also changed the 2024 NFL Draft outlook.

Caleb Williams and Drake Maye have seemingly been locked in as two of the NFL Draft’s top picks even before the 2023 season kicked off. But Jayden Daniels wasn’t in the same conversation.

That all changed after Daniels passed for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while rushing for 1,134 yards and eight more touchdowns this past season. Now, Daniels is projected to be a top pick, and one NFL insider is comparing him to another former LSU superstar turned pro star.

“Jayden Daniels did as much as any player in CFB could to improve his stock. It’s the most impressive rise up the ranks in a single season since Joe Burrow.”

No one was hyping up Joe Burrow as a future star when he started at LSU. Then he passed for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns while winning a Heisman Trophy, and becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Daniels may not have a chance at surpassing Caleb Williams, but the LSU QB is a prospect many expect will be a top-three pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
